Sleepy SUV driver takes out 5 parked cars, and a boat on a trailer!
I can only describe it as a nightmare. It seemed like it anyway.
It was around 2 am, Friday. I was in a really deep sleep. In the distance I heard a series of bangs.
Living on a main boulevard, I got used to ignoring these sounds, since they usually are car doors opening and closing.
This time however, I hear my wife calling me, in a distressed voice saying get up, someone just hit your car.
Awakening from my deep sleep, I’m thinking what is she talking about? My car is in the driveway, it’s not on the street.
By the time I got up and was able to walk, my wife was already outside, at the scene of the accident.
A car had in fact hit my car. A blue Hyundai had hit the back of my car, with its back bumper... on my driveway.
The Hyundai belonged to my neighbour who lives across the street from me.
Half asleep, I went outside to see the damage. There were six cars plus a boat on a trailer, involved in this accident.
It would seem that someone driving a black suv heading west on my street , fell asleep at the wheel , crossed the median and hit the blue Hyundai, parked across the street from my home, head on. The suv continued on to hit the car parked behind the blue Hyundai, a ford f150 truck. The impact pushed the f150back, along with the trailer attached to it, with the boat on it, into the car parked behind. The propeller of the boat’s outboard engine then cut into the hood of the Hyundai suv parked behind the f150. The Hyundai suv, belongs to the wife of the guy who owns the f150, the trailer and the boat. It was not a good night for him.
Back to the blue Hyundai. The impact from the black suv sent it flying down the cross street which is perpendicular to the main street. It hit a beige Nissan on the front driver side fender, and continued to hit and finally come to a stop, on my silver Honda’s bumper, which was parked on my driveway. The blue Hyundai then began to smoke; for some reason it seemed to catch on fire.
The fire department was then called as a preventive measure, in case it did in fact catch fire.
As i said, a nightmare.
Luckily no one was hurt. All the owners of the cars involved were in bed sleeping at the time of the accident. Even the driver of the suv that caused the accident appears to have been asleep, as per the police.

I was there that night in Montréal. What a good souvenir. Thank you for posting. It has been 36 years but i remember like it was Last week. Before the show she was jogging outside the forum with 2 bodyguards and nobody noticed them. She looked at me and smile and said thank you. Probably for not blowing up her cover. Very classy lady.
